About Me

Way back in October 1973, something special happened in a maternity ward in West Sussex. I was born. And I was getting an awful lot of attention. Comments ranged from "Aaaah!" and "Aaaw!" to "Aaaagh!" and "It's pink and horrible!".

Ever since then, I've been trying to regain that level of attention, but without the unsolicited criticism.

Anyway, here I am and this is my web site. The domain name was originally purchased by my girlfriend, Julia, as a Christmas present, so it'd just be plain rude not to use it. So, all you other James Denyers out there will have to make do with .com, (I've since purchased the .com domain too) .me, .name or whatever. A quick Google search proves most of you are either subjects of genealogy or junior footballers, so not much competition for the moment as long as I keep up my Search Engine Optimisation!

The first incarnation of this site was set up pretty quickly, just two weeks before we set off travelling for some months. I'd set up a diary application which I could log into and update the world on what we were up to. Unfortunately, I believe the database corrupted after about six months and I was reduced to using email like all the other travellers. The whole idea of this has now been superceded by blogging. I was doing it first folks!

This is the second build of the site. I have started from scratch and am gradually rebuilding the original travel galleries whilst adding new galleries, including the warning signs gallery, which has crept up on me to become a minor obsession!
